Hope you will share it
Just a short note on the HISTORY of PLEIN AIR, in the USA. That word had NOT been used in the USA since about the 1920s.
In 1987 Denise Burns from Catalina Island asked me to do ONE nat'l Ad to Promote
PLEIN AIR PAINTERS OF AMERICA
I set up an ad campaign that created 22 full color ads from 1987 thru 1996 and appeared in Southwest Art (12 ad/yr) Art West (6 ad/yr) Artists of the Rockies (4 ad/yr)
Now, PLEIN AIR PAINTING has groups across the USA and CANADA all because of that 10 years of promotions.
The FIRST plein Air Magazine showed up about 2004, 17 years later, and is quite popular here in the USA.
Sure would be nice if Denise or I got even ONE LINE of ACKNOWLEDGMENT
for the years we were dedicated to PLEIN AIR PAINTERS OF AMERICA...
and to note: we did NOT CHARGE ONE PENNY FOR OUR EFFORTS!
