The Beginning of "PLEIN AIR in the U.S.A.
The word "plein air" had not been used in the USA since about the 1920s.
In '87 Denise Burns asked Billups to do ONE national ad. Instead,
Betty set up a campaign, 22 full pg. ads from '87 to '96, promoting
Plein Air Painters of America, in Nat'l Art Magazines.
