My home is 30 miles from the town I work out of.
In the winter I usually go there once a week,
to run errands, and visit friends.
In the 13 years I have lived on this mountain,
I have only witnessed this scene two times!
Thank goodness I had the time and my paints on one of these trips to town!
The water only gets to this beautiful deep gray slate color
after it has rained on the snow, and then is
refrozen.
The rust tones back in the trees was probably dead stuff...
and was captured with one sweep of the brush loaded with the darks,
and a dab of warm...something, if over worked,
will not give the same results.
