Cabinets at Sunset8 x 10 PLEIN AIR PAINTING |
For those people who, through "logic", say that snow can only be white or blue
(reflecting the sky), I'd like to present the following idea.
If you are looking at shadows of trees cast across a field,
in the late afternoon, they will reflect the blue sky (IF the sky is blue),
but what you will see is not just this blue shadow,
but the rays of the sun passing between you and those shadows (in the air particles),
and when this overlaps the blue...you could possibly see green!
Or at least a grayed version of it. (I cannot quite figure that one out,
since in "light" the primaries are red, blue, green...o, well.)
Another thing that is important, is getting the value down low enough,
so that none of the colors are actually white!!
