Butte is the second largest population of Irish decent, outside of Ireland!
This piece emphasis the sky, which Montana is also known for...and perhaps, besides the mines that brought many Irish people to Butte, it was also the skies!
In this paiinting, the harbor was taken from photo reference, but the sky was taken from a piece I created while in Ireland, just a small 8x10 painting...that gave me the color and emotion of the spirit of Ireland.

This original can be viewed at a small artist's studio, just east of Sandpoint, near Hope Idaho, at Baranski's studio... open in the summer time.
