Chimney Rock, Priest Lake, ID 48"x54" PLEIN AIR PAINTING |
From many miles along the meandering shore line of Priest Lake, there is one small body of rock that is known, as in many states, for it's unusual shape: Chimney Rock.
In this painting, I was able to spend quiet time alone, prior to all the hussle and bussle of summer tourists and lake enthusiasts, to capture the last snows that embrace this most beloved "rock".
All of these murals and large paintings were created on location, en plein air, for the bottom portion of the mural. The upper panels often times are created in the studio, taking the images of clouds from 20 plein air paintings I have captured over the past 15 years, finding the "right one" to capture the total feeling of the moment.

You website looks great. I would like a little more time to look at each picture in the slide show.
You are a great painter!
Hi Camille...Coming from you, I feel greatly honored!
For your work blows my socks off! I use
to think I used color...
but in comparison, I'm almost a black and white painter!!!
Just
kidding!
Any way...I just returned from a month of travel...to Glacier Park as Artist in Residence,
and
to Pinedale Wy to help raise funds for the museum there...
my quick draw is now in a collection
in Newport Beach CA!
In which I feel greatly honored to be included.
On my trip to Catalina this year,
I'll have 3 weeks to paint the California coast (my nephew's
wedding is Oct. 6)
...perhaps we can get together and "paint the town!"
Let me know! Love,
Betty
