I use to have a "second family" that lived in town, before they moved back to Florida, that lived in this house. Each spring I would fall in love with their lilac tree, only to wish I had painted it, when it was no longer in bloom.
Well, I finally settled down and began. After working on it for hours, I lost interest...or was just too blooming (excuse the expression) tired, to finish it. And the blooms fell, before I got back to it!
The following year, I grab the panel, and went back to finish it, "en plein air"... However, meantime, Linda tore out the back door, and window, and put up a new porch!? I had enough on my original painting, to hold true to the original house, and finally finished the painting...12 months later! SO, often times an artist can capture historical (different from Hysterical) elements, often times "lost"!!
