SAC Walnut CA</div> </td></tr></table> </h3> <div class="Text"><BR><center><B>Mount San Antonio Junior College</B> contacted Billups early in 2007 <BR>to create a mural for their Founders Hall on the campus. Since she prefers to work en plein air,<BR> Billups traveled to Southern California in order to create this mural.<BR><BR>She drove over 100 miles in the city limits that had partial views of Mt. SAC,<BR> a peak in the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California. <BR>She finally found a roof parking lot, along the interstate freeway,<BR>where she painted the entire mountain range as the canvases laid on the ground!<BR>However this "event" did not go unnoticed!<BR>As she was laying out her 16 feet of canvas, one of the guards from the building<BR> cme up on the roof to see what she was up to!<BR>As he explained, no one was allow on the roofs<BR> because of security (not for the building,<BR>but for possible drive by shooting!!!<BR>Needless to say, they finally gave her clearance,<BR>so that she could do the entire painting (of the mountain portion),<BR>from their roof top!!<BR><BR>The clouds she created from over a dozen studies she had brought with her, from her home in the Northwest,<BR> and the Eucalyptus trees were gathered from all over the county, digitally, and recreated in a friend's studio!<BR><BR>Billups enjoys accepting large commissions that require local subjects! <BR><BR>This mural measured 6x16 feet.</center></div> </CENTER> </FONT> <BR> <center> <font size="2" face="Times New Roman">Website: <a href="http://www.billupsfineart.com" target="_top">http://www.billupsfineart.com</a> - <a href="http://www.billupsfineart.com/sitemap.xml" target="_blank">Sitemap</a> - <a href="mailto:bbillups@coldreams.com?subject=From http://www.billupsfineart.com">Email</a> - Phone: (208) 263-1117<br> All Text and Images Copyright Betty Jean Billups.
